I've read exactly 50.

Working on some stuff, including reading more of these. Some I think don't deserve to be on the list - but I've read them, and don't want to drop my count under 50.

More later.

Maybe.

I Am A: Chaotic Good Elf Wizard (3rd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-11

Dexterity-12

Constitution-13

Intelligence-17

Wisdom-14

Charisma-17

Alignment:
Chaotic Good A chaotic good character acts as his conscience directs him with little regard for what others expect of him. He makes his own way, but he's kind and benevolent. He believes in goodness and right but has little use for laws and regulations. He hates it when people try to intimidate others and tell them what to do. He follows his own moral compass, which, although good, may not agree with that of society. Chaotic good is the best alignment you can be because it combines a good heart with a free spirit. However, chaotic good can be a dangerous alignment because it disrupts the order of society and punishes those who do well for themselves.

Race:
Elves are known for their poetry, song, and magical arts, but when danger threatens they show great skill with weapons and strategy. Elves can live to be over 700 years old and, by human standards, are slow to make friends and enemies, and even slower to forget them. Elves are slim and stand 4.5 to 5.5 feet tall. They have no facial or body hair, prefer comfortable clothes, and possess unearthly grace. Many others races find them hauntingly beautiful.

Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

You're Ulysses!

by James Joyce

Most people are convinced that you don't make any sense, but compared
to what else you could say, what you're saying now makes tons of sense. What people do
understand about you is your vulgarity, which has convinced people that you are at once
brilliant and repugnant. Meanwhile you are content to wander around aimlessly, taking in
the sights and sounds of the city. What you see is vast, almost limitless, and brings you
additional fame. When no one is looking, you dream of being a Greek folk hero.

Hey, this is in response to http://quantumblaze.livejournal.com/56292.html?thread=96228#t96228 in which Biz Matt started a new conversation about RE5. My response was way too long for the maximum character limit of the response, so I figured I'd make a new post.

Resident Evil 5 [01 Aug 2007|01:20pm]
Recently, Kotaku ran this story: http://kotaku.com/gaming/zombie-racism/black-looks-on-re-5-racism-284725.php. In brief, the article that they link to Kym Platt's "Black Looks" argues that Capcom's trailer for RE5 is racist. The exerpt Kotaku gives is "This is problematic on so many levels, including the depiction of Black people as inhuman savages, the killing of Black people by a white man in military clothing, and the fact that this video game is marketed to children and young adults. Start them young... fearing, hating, and destroying Black people."

Posters on Kotaku were, all in all, in an uproar:

BY STRIKEROBI AT 10:29 AM

This is retarded. It takes place in Africa... the majority of the African population is black... of course the zombies are black. It's not like Resident Evil is racist or something. This is the fifth game and the first time anybody has complained. You didn't see Spanish people freaking out over Resident Evil 4... Just shut up already with your white guilt.

BY EXPLODINGMAN AT 10:38 AM

Dumb bitch should see how white zombies were depicted in previous RE titles. Sheesh.

BY THANATOS- AT 10:41 AM

It really pisses me off when people play the race card. And this is just ridiculous. Saw it coming though.

BY HUXLEYHOBBES AT 10:54 AM

This is quite clearly someone who has a personal interest in making a big deal out of non-issues. The sheer lack of knowledge or reasearch (You can literally tell she didn't even go to Wikipedia for two minutes) shines through and discredits anything she could say.

No commenter image uploaded BY ILLUMINEART AT 01:44 PM

I think what she's saying is that she wants this game to be set in LA, with Rodney King as the main character, who goes around killing white zombie cops.
Obviously she's one chick that needs to end up in a multiracial gang bang to loosen up that sand in her vag :P

Everyone is entitled to their opinion... Except that last guy, what a douche.

Just heard the lastest Ghostface Killah CD, the last track is a remix of his big single from his last single, "Back Like That" which featured Ne-Yo. Now, what you might say is "Hey, didn't his last album ALSO feature a remix of this song? Why, yes, yes it did. But this one has Kanye West on it. Here's the best part of his verse:

We hit the spot to chill, where the food get grilled,
She order the Kobe beef like Shaquille O'Neal
Second I walked in the whole room got still
I don’t know how to put this but I’m kind of a big deal.

Oberman, the only news worth watching this 9/11 [12 Sep 2006|01:20am]
Keith Oberman's Special Comment on 9/11/06

Man.

Keith really shines here; if someone had been convinced that Oberman was
just a "scaled back" Stewart, this denies that accusation. He manages to
have the referential knowledge and popular appeal of Jon, but is able to
outright condemn the administration, words out in public, out from
behind jokes, clever and witty though they may be. Stewart and Colbert
have their place, and I think finally Keith Oberman has found his.

He's come a long way since ESPN - this monologue proves that.

The Oracle

33% Extroversion, 100% Intuition, 27% Emotiveness, 100% Perceptiveness

Heuristic, detached, and analytical to a fualt, you are most like The Oracle. You are able to tackle any subject with a fine toothed comb, and you possess an ability to pinpoint nuances and shades of meaning that other people do not have and cannot understand. Accomplishment and realization of ideas are, for you, secondary to the rigorous exploration of ideas and questions -- you are, first and foremost, a theorist. You hate authority, convention, tradition, and under no circumstances do you accept a leadership role (although, you will gladly advise leadership when they're going astray, whether they want you to or not). Abstraction and generalities are your interests, details and particulars are usually inconsequential and uninteresting. You excel at language, mathematics and philosophy.

You are typically easy-going and non-confrontational until someone violates one of the very few principles that you deem sacred, at which point you can fly into a rage. Although you possess a much greater understanding of process and systems than the people around you, you are always conscious of the possibility that you've missed something or made a mistake. You don't tend to become attached to particular theories, and will immediately discard mistaken notions once they're revealed to be incorrect (but you don't tolerate iconoclasts who try to discredit validated theories through the use of fallacies and bad data). Despite being outwardly humble, you probably think of yourself as being smarter than most other people. That's because you are. In fact, in your dealings with people your understanding of their motives is so expansive that you know what they're going to say before they say it, and in world affairs, you usually know what is going to take place before it actually does. This ability would make you unbeatable in debates if only you were a little less pensive about your own conclusions, and a little more outgoing.

Famous people like you: Albert Einstein, Charles Darwin, Adam Smith, Thomas Jefferson, John McWhorter, Ramanujan, Marie Curie, Kurt Godel

Stay clear of: Apollo, Icarus, Hermes, Aphrodite

Seek out: Atlas, Prometheus, Daedalus

Good. [30 Aug 2006|11:35pm]

the Wit

(66% dark, 23% spontaneous, 21% vulgar)

your humor style:
CLEAN | COMPLEX | DARK

You like things edgy, subtle, and smart. I guess that means you're probably an intellectual, but don't take that to mean pretentious. You realize 'dumb' can be witty--after all isn't that the Simpsons' philosophy?--but rudeness for its own sake, 'gross-out' humor and most other things found in a fraternity leave you totally flat.

I guess you just have a more cerebral approach than most. You have the perfect mindset for a joke writer or staff writer.

Your sense of humor takes the most thought to appreciate, but it's also the best, in my opinion.

You probably loved the Office. If you don't know what I'm

The Expatriate

Achtung! You are 23% brainwashworthy, 27% antitolerant, and 4% blindly patriotic

Congratulations! You are not susceptible to brainwashing, your values and cares extend beyond the borders of your own country, and your Blind Patriotism does not reach unhealthy levels. If you had been German in the 30s, you would've left the country.

One bad scenario -- as I hypothetically project you back in time -- is that you just wouldn't have cared one way or the other about Nazism. Maybe politics don't interest you enough. But the fact that you took this test means they probably do. I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt.

Did you know that many of the smartest Germans departed prior to the beginning of World War II, because they knew some evil shit was brewing? Brain Drain. Many of them were scientists. It is very possible you could have been one of them.

Conclusion: born and raised in Germany in the early 1930's, you would not have been a Nazi.

Zorg
35% Evil, 65% Intelligence, 60% Common Sense
Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg -- Zorg for short -- is the President and CEO of Zorg Industries, a large, mammoth corporate empire that specializes in firearms, spacecraft, and employs most of New York City's cab drivers. Zorg himself is a shrewd and ruthless businessman. He knows what he wants, and usually knows how to get it. He is also not afraid to get his own hands dirty to get a job done when his henchmen fail to do it properly the first time.

Zorg has a moderate rating in all three categories as he is generally regarded as one of the more successful of Evil Overlords (for a human, at least), although his end was brought about by the very people he betrayed.

Quote:

Tell you what I do like though. A killer. A dyed in the wool killer! Cold-blooded, clean, methodical and thorough. Now a real killer, when he picked up the ZF-1, would have immediately asked about the little red button on the bottom of the gun.
